Gender and Youth
As the research programs of the institute expanded and the flow of new technologies and knowledge increased, the need for equitably addressing men and women farmers become apparent. Consequently, gender research coordination unit was established to comprehensively monitor, evaluate and support gender sensitive research and technology transfer within the research system. As it is true for all other research programs, gender research within the research system has evolved over years. Although the envisioned mainstreaming offender research in all the research program remains to be fully realized, the gender coordination unit has gone a long way in capacity building and influencing agricultural research to be gender sensitive. Currently, the gender has become one of the pillars of social aspects of agricultural research in EIAR.
