National Agricultural Biotechnology Research Center

History: TheNational Agricultural Biotechnology Research Center, is one of the recently established research centers of the Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research. Before the center wasupgradedtoa full-fledged research center level, it was a National Agricultural Biotechnology Laboratory (NABL). The Laboratory was established as an independent biotechnology research facility under the administration of Holeta Agricultural Research Center (HARC) on September 2010.Currently, the Center conducts research activities at four of its laboratories in areas of(1) plant tissue culture biotechnology research, (2) central molecular biotechnology research, (3) animal biotechnology research, and (4) microbial biotechnology research.
