Awareness Creation Workshop on Invasive Alien Plant Species PDF Print E-mail

 UNEP/GEF Project, which was established with the aim of protecting the ecosystem, species, and genetic diversity from invasive alien species for global, national and community benefit is working insistently to meet the intended target. As part of its activities, on 13th of September 2010 stakeholders from different institutions were gathered at head quarter of EIAR to participate in an awareness creation workshop on invasive  alien species organized by the Project.

0verwhelming community mobilization for control of Parthenium PDF Print E-mail

 

The GoE-UNEP/GEF project “Removing Barriers to Invasive Plants Management in Africa (RBIPMA)” organized a parthenium field day on October 19, 2008 at Welenchitti, Boset Woreda. The event drew in an overwhelming community participation and demonstrated coordinated intervention to create awareness about the weed and mobilize control efforts through the project.
