Profile
The
Crop Science Society of Ethiopia (CSSE) is a non-profit
making professional association established in 1987.
It was inaugurated as a society in December 1991. Since
then, it has been organizing annual conferences and
producing proceedings biannually by the name “Sebil”.
Mission
Contribute towards the development of
the Ethiopian agriculture in general and addressing
crop production-related problems in particular, through
promoting effective research, documentation and dissemination
of scientific information, encouraging professional
growth, and fostering interdisciplinary interactions
and dialogues among crop scientists, policy makers,
and other governmental and non-governmental partners
and stakeholders involved in the sector.
Organization
The society is governed by a general
assembly of members drawn from different professional
backgrounds and an annually elected executive committee,
composed of a president, vice president, secretary,
auditor, public relations officer, editor, associate
editor and treasurer.

News update
During the 13th annual conference held from
31st December 2008 – 2nd January 2009, CSSE has inaugurated
the first issue of Ethiopian Journal of Crop Science (EJCS).
The general assembly has also elected new executive committee
as indicated here below.
