Goal
The overall goal of crop research are to improve productivity and production of crops in different agroecologiclal zones to be food self sufficient on sustainable basis.
Mission
The mission of the Crop Science Research Sector is to increase productivity and production of crops.
Vision
The vision of the Crop Science Research Sector is to produce surplus grains for food self sufficiency, provide enough raw materials for agro-industries and export markets on sustainable basis.
Objectives
The objectives of Crop Science Research Sector are:
- To secure food self-sufficiency (food security) through increased productivity and production of cereals, pulses, oil crops, vegetables and fruits, and
- To promote export commodities by improving the quality and quantity of coffee, tea, cotton, pulses, oil crops, spices, vegetable, fruits, sugar and its products and other industrial crops.
